Moravian Sugar Cake

Judy Ann Curtis (United States) says:
Moravian Sugar cake is a traditional Easter morning cake served following the Easter Sunrise Service. It is not served during Moravian Lovefeasts, rather Lovefeast Buns are served during these services with coffee, hot chocolate, milk or juice. Thanks for the recipe.

This is the traditional Easter morning cake, but I have seen it served during lovefeasts also. Lovefeast buns are traditional, but I have seen various items served including cookies and the sugar cake. "...in nonessentials liberty..." The fellowship of lovefeast is what makes that service special.
Good recipe. I'm used to the one that contains potato.
