DEACON'S POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1/4 tsp. salt
5 lg. eggs
3 c. flour
1 sm. can evaporated milk + water to make 1 c.
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon
1 tsp. almond

Cream sugar, butter, Crisco and salt. Add one egg at a time, continuing to beat after each egg. Add flour and milk alternately beginning and ending with flour. Fold in flavoring.

Bake in a greased tube pan for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325 degrees.

Preheat oven. Remove from pan immediately.
