MOLASSES COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. sorghum or molasses
1 egg
2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/8 tsp. cloves, if desired

Cream butter, add sugar; stir in sorghum and egg. Sift dry ingredients together. Stir into sorghum mixture. Beat well. Form in 1 inch balls. Roll in white sugar. Bake at 375 degrees on an ungreased cookie sheet for about 12 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
