OLD FASHIONED MINCEMEAT 
2 1/2 lbs. ground beef
4 lbs. finely chopped apples
1 3/4 c. currants
3 1/3 c. brown sugar
1 qt. apple cider
1 c. canned bouillon
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. ground cloves
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. lemon juice

Combine beef, apples, currants, raisins and sugar in large kettle. Stir in cider, bouillon and seasonings. Simmer, uncovered for 1 hour stirring frequently. Add lemon juice. May be stored in refrigerator a few days or frozen. Use 4 cups for 1 pie. A holiday favorite!
