APPLE CHUTNEY 
2 c. sugar
1 c. cider vinegar
4/5 c. grated onion
1 tsp. ginger, allspice, cinnamon (put spices in bag)
1/5 c. Worcestershire sauce

Cook and stir. Let simmer 20 minutes.

5 c. apples, tart; pare, core and cut into 1/4 inch slices
2/5 c. ginger candy (crystallized)
4/5 c. currants or halved dark raisins
Pinch of salt

Add to first mixture and boil 10 minutes. Take out spice bag; ladle chutney into 1/2 pint jars. Makes 4 (1/2) pints.
