GLAZED CARROTS AND APPLES 
2 apples
6 tbsp. butter
1 bunch carrots, sliced and boiled
6 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. mace

Core and slice apples and simmer until glazed and tender in mixture of butter, sugar and mace. Lift apples onto a platter to keep hot. Glaze cooked carrots in what remains of butter, sugar and mace mixture. Arrange apple slices in attractive serving dish, topped with carrot slices. Garnish to suit your fancy.
