NO FROST CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE | |
1 c. chopped dates 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. + 3 tbsp. hot water 1 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. cocoa 1 tbsp. vanilla 12 oz. chocolate chips 1 c. nuts Combine dates and soda in water. Cream shortening and sugar; mix in dates. Beat in eggs, flour, salt, cocoa and vanilla. Hand stir 1/2 bag chocolate chips. Pour batter into greased pan, sprinkle with remaining chips and nuts. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees. 16 slices. |
