RAW APPLE CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
3 raw apples, peeled and diced
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together. Dissolve soda in water and add. Stir in apples, nuts and vanilla. Bake 1 hour in greased tube pan or can make small loaves. Bake at 350 degrees. Frosting below.

CARAMEL FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 to 2 c. powdered sugar

Melt butter and add brown sugar. Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly, on low heat. Add milk and cook until mixture comes to a full boil. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. if mixture get to stiff, add a little milk, put on apple cake.
