PATTI'S EASY RAISIN SPICE CAKE 
1 c. water
1 c. raisins
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. oil
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Boil raisins in 1 cup water for 2 minutes. Remove from heat, DON'T DRAIN. Stir in oil. Cool until lukewarm. Stir in sugar and egg. Add dry ingredients. Pour into greased shallow 9x13 inch pan. Bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
