BUTTER PECAN CHOCOLATE BARS 
BASE:

1 c. all purpose flour
1 1/2 c. quick cooking rolled oats or 1 1/4 c. regular rolled oats
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened

TOPPING:

1 1/2 c. pecan halves
2/3 c. butter
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
6 oz. pkg. (1 c. or less) semi sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In large bowl, combine all base ingredients. Blend at medium speed until mixture is crumbly. Press in bottom of ungreased 13"x9" pan; sprinkle with pecan halves.

In medium saucepan combine 2/3 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil. Boil 1 minute stirring constantly. Pour mixture evenly over pecans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 17 to 20 minutes or until entire top is bubbly. Remove from oven, immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow chips to melt 2 to 3 minutes; swirl slightly. Cool completely. 48 bars.
