SPICY CHILI SAUCE | |
4 qts. peeled, cored, chopped tomatoes (24 lg.) 1 1/2 c. chopped sweet green peppers (3 med.) 2 c. chopped onions 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. celery seed 1/2 - 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 - 1 tsp. ground allspice 1 - 1 1/2 c. vinegar 1 tbsp. salt 1/2 - 1 tsp. ground ginger 1 tsp. ground cloves Combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, simmering until desired thickness, 1 to 2 hours. Keep stirred or it will stick and burn. Pour boiling hot into sterile jars leaving 1/2" headspace. Adjust caps. Makes 8 pints. |
