CHIPPEWA MAPLE BAKED BEANS 
1 1/2 c. dried black or kidney beans
1 c. maple syrup (grate)

Place beans in large saucepan and soak overnight. Next morning bring beans to a boil, simmer slowly for about 1 hour until tender. Add water as needed to prevent scorching. Drain beans. Add maple syrup to beans and mix well. Place beans in a well-greased baking dish. Dot with pieces of bacon and bake covered in a 250 degree oven for 3 hours.
