3/4 c. shortening, part butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry Jello (may add other flavors)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Mix and roll into balls; flatten with greased glass dipped in sugar. Bake 6-8 minutes at 400 degrees.
