PORTUGUESE SOUP 
1 lb. sliced sausage (hot or mild)
1 lg. carrot, sliced
2 potatoes, diced
1 sm. onion, diced
8 oz. can of tomato sauce
1 tbsp. salt
2 cans kidney beans
Lg. head of cabbage, chopped
1 qt. water

Put everything in except cabbage and beans in a large pot. Boil for 20 minutes, add cabbage and beans and simmer for 20 minutes. Makes 3 quarts.
