BEEF LOAF 
2 lbs. ground beef
1 c. soft bread crumbs
3/4 c. spaghetti sauce
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. minced onion
4 strips bacon, if beef is quite lean

Season with Worcestershire sauce or other table sauce or add 2 pimentos, chopped.

Mix together lightly all ingredients except bacon. Put into loaf pan with bacon on top. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

VARIATIONS:

In place of bread crumbs, use quick-cooking oatmeal or packaged poultry stuffing. Instead of spaghetti sauce, use concentrated mushroom soup, tomatoes, concentrated tomato soup or milk.
