CHOCOLATE SURPRISES 
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. confectioners sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. finely chopped nuts
9 oz. Hershey kisses

Soften butter to room temperature. Add egg, vanilla, and 1/2 cup confectioners sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Blend in flour and nuts. Shape dough about the size of a walnut around each chocolate kiss.

Bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Carefully remove to shallow bowl of confectioners sugar and roll while hot. Cool and roll again. Makes about 4 dozen.
