DILL PICKLES 
4 doz. med pickles, cucumbers, washed
3 qts. water
Kosher salt
1 qt. vinegar
2 heads garlic
Dill to taste
Hot peppers (optional)

Boil water and vinegar. Add cucumbers and bring to a second boil. In each washed and sterilized jar put 1 tablespoon kosher salt, 2-3 cloves garlic, and enough dill to taste. (If you prefer hot pickles, add 1/2 of a hot pepper to each jar). Pack pickles into jars. Fill with water, vinegar mixture and close jars tightly. Let stand at least a week before using for best flavor.
