cucumbers
1 tbsp. pickle spice
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. alum
1 c. vinegar

Fill quart jar with cucumbers. Add the pickle spice, salt, alum and vinegar. Fill jar the rest of the way with hot water and seal. After 8 weeks, put 1 cup sugar per jar.
