SWEET AND SOUR WATER CHESTNUTS 
1 lb. bacon
2 (8 oz.) cans water chestnuts
1 1/2 c. ketchup
2/3 to 1 c. granulated sugar
Juice of 1/2 lemon

Cut bacon into thirds and wrap 1 piece around each water chestnut. (If water chestnuts are large, cut in half.) Secure the bacon and chestnuts with toothpicks. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Do not over cook. Drain fat. Make sauce by combining ketchup, sugar and lemon juice and pour over baked bacon and chestnuts; bake for additional 30 to 45 minutes. Serve hot. Serves 8 to 10.
