RED VELVET POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
7 eggs
3 c. all purpose flour
1 c. warm milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 oz. red food coloring
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add food coloring. Add salt to flour and alternately with the milk. Bake in greased tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on cake rack. Frost.
