KELLOGG'S NUT & HONEY CRUNCH

1 c. pitted dates, chopped
3/4 c. orange juice
1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. Kellogg's Nut & Honey Crunch Flakes Cereal, crushed to 1 cup
1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. corn syrup

In 2 quart saucepan combine dates, orange juice, the 1/4 cup sugar, and cloves. Cook over medium heat stirring occasionally, until mixture begins to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes or until mixture is very thick, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool. Combine flour, the remaining 1/4 cup sugar, Kellogg's Nut & Honey Crunch Flakes Cereal and cinnamon. Using pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add corn syrup, mixing until thoroughly combined. Pat half of cereal mixture in bottom of greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Spread date filling over crust, pat remaining cereal mixture over date filling, pressing slightly. Bake in 375 degree oven 35 minutes or until browned. Cool, cut into bars. Serve with whipped topping.
