2 c. applesauce
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. lemon juice
6 (1/2 inch) slices pound cake
Whipped cream or frozen whipped topping thawed, for garnish

In a large bowl, combine the applesauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Toast pound cake slices until golden brown on both sides. Place cake on serving plates and top with applesauce mixture. Garnish with whipped cream or whipped topping.
