DEEP DISH OVERNIGHT SALAD 
1 head lettuce, cut and drained
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 1/4 c. chopped celery
1 1/4 c. chopped green peppers
1 pkg. frozen peas, cooked, drained and cooled
1 can water chestnuts, cut up
1 pt. Hellmann's dressing
3 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb. bacon, fried and drained

Layer in bowl starting with lettuce, onions, celery, green peppers, peas, water chestnuts. Repeat in same order. Spread Hellmann's dressing over all and sprinkle sugar over top. Crumble bacon over this and sprinkle with cheese. Cover bowl and refrigerate overnight. Toss before serving. Serves 15.
