Though it is fairly obvious how to prepare this to those who are experienced cooks such as myself, A new cook may not know exactly what to do. You may want to edit this so the instructions are more detailed. This is a great recipe. Its made its way into my recipe scrap book I will one day hand down to my daughter

Love this, it was one of my first successful desserts when I was a new cook. I always used a large can of fruit or a small if that is all I had. Drain the liquid first. This does not say how long to bake, and I don't remember, so I'm saying 30 min, and watch it closely after that to see when it looks nicely browned and set.

I agree... instructions needed for the novice cook... I have made this before... I melt 1 stick of butter in a Pyrex baking dish... I then mix the sugar, self-rising flour, and milk and pour in dish... do NOT stir... I then add the fruit to the middle of the mixture... do Not stir... bake in preheated oven for about 40 minutes... it makes it's own crust... I sprinkle about a tablespoon of sugar over the top of the crust when it has about 10 minutes left to bake.. .delicious! I serve warm with scoop of ice cream.
