CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1 c. shortening
1 stick butter
1 stick butter
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. milk
1 tsp. each vanilla and almond flavoring

Cream shortening, butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beat until blended. Sift dry ingredients together 3 times. Add milk alternately with dry ingredients. Add vanilla and almond flavoring. Pour into a well greased and floured tube pan. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325 degrees. Let stand 10 minutes. Invert on rack to cool. Always begin and end with dry ingredients. I use Bakers Joy to grease and flour pan.

ICING:

1 box XXXX powdered sugar
4 oz. cream cheese
3 or 4 tbsp. cocoa
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. each of lemon and almond flavorings

If needed, add a few drops of milk.
