BAKED APPLE CRISP 
3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
6 tbsp. butter
Dash of cloves
6 c. sliced apples
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 c. chopped nuts
Dash of nutmeg

Sift 1/2 cup of flour with 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and salt. Cut in butter and then chopped nuts, if desired. Work until crumbly. This is the topping.

Combine 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, dash of cloves, and dash of nutmeg. Sprinkle over the apples and toss. Turn the apple mixture into a buttered 8x8 inch pan. Spoon the topping over the apple mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until browned.
