CHESS PIE 
1 unbaked pie shell
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 sticks butter
3 egg yolks
2 whole eggs
2 tsp. vinegar
4 1/2 tbsp. water
1 1/2 tbsp. flour
2 egg whites
Cloves, ginger, mace, nutmeg & cinnamon to taste
6 tbsp. sugar

Mix flour and sugar; add egg yolks, whole eggs, water and vinegar. Mix well. Add melted butter. Pour into pie shell. Sprinkle lightly with cloves and ginger, nutmeg, mace and cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees until set 30-45 minutes. Beat egg whites until stiff; gradually add 6 tablespoons sugar and beat well. Pour onto pie and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
