1 c. flour 1/2 c. butter 1 tbsp. water 1 c. water 1/2 c. butter 1 c. flour 3 eggs 1/2 tsp. almond extract Mix first 3 ingredients like pie crust. Pat on greased cookie sheet in two strips 3" wide. Heat water and butter to boiling, remove from stove, add flour. Stir until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add almond and spread on first mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes. FROSTING: 1 c. powdered sugar 1 tsp. butter 1/2 tsp. almond extract 1 tbsp. cream Mix well. Spread over baked Kringle. Sprinkle with slivered almonds or nuts. |
