BEEF STROGANOFF 
1 1/2 lbs. round steak, cut in strips or cubes
1/4 c. flour, seasoned with salt and pepper
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms and juice
1 c. sour cream
1 can soup (tomato, mushroom or chicken), undiluted

Dip meat in flour and brown in hot shortening. Add remaining ingredients except cream and stir until well blended. May add 1/4 to 1/2 can water. Cover and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally. Add sour cream gradually and cook 5 minutes more. Serve over cooked noodles, rice or mashed potatoes.
