GRANDMA CHELL'S SCALLOPED
OYSTERS
 
1 can oysters
1 c. crushed saltines
1/2 c. dry cubed bread
1/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. milk
Oyster liquid reserved from can
Salt & pepper as desired

Mix bread and crushed saltines. Stir in butter. Put thin layer of mixture in bottom of buttered baking dish. Cover with oysters and sprinkle with salt and pepper as desired. Add 1/2 oyster liquid and 1 tablespoon milk. Repeat a layer of bread and saltine mixture. Cover with remaining oysters, liquids and crumbs. (Works best with no more than 2 layers of oysters.) Bake for 30 minutes at 450 degrees.
