HAMBURGER SOUP 
1 lb. ground round
3 tbsp. butter
1 (#2) can tomatoes (2 1/2 c.)
2 med. carrots, sliced
1 med. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 c. diced celery
2 tsp. salt or to taste
1 tsp. chili powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 bouillon cubes
2 1/2 c. hot water
2 c. diced potatoes

Brown meat in butter in a 3 quart boiler. Add all ingredients, but potatoes, cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add potatoes, simmer 1/2 hour longer or until potatoes are tender. Serves 6. Garnish with hot buttered oyster crackers. Melt butter in skillet, lightly brown oyster crackers, stirring constantly. Keep from scorching.
