BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
4 c. thin sliced cucumbers
6 med. onions, sliced
3 green peppers, sliced
3 whole garlic cloves
1/3 c. canning salt

Cover with crushed ice. Let stand through day. Drain and pack into jars.

BRINE:

5 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed
5 c. vinegar

Bring to boil. Pour into jars. Hot water process for 10-15 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 pints.
