CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter Crisco
1 egg
1/2 c. cocoa
1/3 c. buttermilk (milk and 1 tsp. vinegar)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts or maraschino cherries

Mix first 6 ingredients, then add flour, baking soda and nuts. Drop dough by teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes, let cool and frost. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. cocoa
2 tbsp. butter Crisco
3 tbsp. water
2 c. powdered sugar

Mix with beaters until smooth. Add pecan halves to top of cookie after frosting.
