CHERRY SQUARES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs, beaten
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. lemon or orange extract
1 can cherry pie filling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, mix well. Add extracts, then flour. Spread batter into jelly roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch). Mark batter into 24 squares. Spoon cherry pie filling into center of each square. Bake 30 to 40 minutes until golden. Cool. Drizzle with powdered sugar icing. Serves 24.
