OLD FASHIONED APPLE PIE 
6 tart apples, peeled & sliced
1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
Sprinkle of salt

Mix above ingredients together and set aside.

PASTRY FOR 2-CRUST 9 INCH PIE:

2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
4 to 5 tbsp. water

Knead lightly. Make 2 balls, then roll each ball to proper thickness for crust. Place ingredients for filling in bottom crust and top with butter. Top with second crust. Sprinkle top with some sugar and nutmeg. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.
