PEAR BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. nutmeg, or cinnamon
1/4 c. plain yogurt
1 c. coarsely chopped pears
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream softened butter, gradually beating in sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with yogurt. Stir in pears and vanilla.

Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour, or until done, using toothpick test. Makes 1 loaf.

Core pears, but not necessary to peel (according to preference). Use 3 medium or 4 small pears.
