NEVER FAIL CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. hot water

Sift together dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients. Beat vigorously until well mixed. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Yield 1 1/2 dozen.
