2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. sour cream
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. dark Karo syrup
4 to 5 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. shortening, melted

Mix all of the above ingredients together. Dough will be sticky. Put 1/2 of the dough on a floured board. Roll to desired thickness. Cut with donut cutter. Fry at 375 degrees until done. Powdered sugar or cinnamon and sugar donuts. Delicious!
