SWEET POTATO BISCUITS | |
2 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. grated nutmeg 1/2 c. solid shortening 1 c. mashed sweet potatoes 1/2 c. rich milk or cream Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in the shortening thoroughly. Add milk to potatoes. Blend with other ingredients. Knead on a floured board. Use only enough flour to handle dough easily. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter. Place in greased pan and bake at 450 degrees until brown. |
