SOUTHERN CORNBREAD 
2 c. cornmeal, plain
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. bacon drippings

Combine cornmeal, soda, salt and stir in eggs and buttermilk. Heat bacon drippings in an 8 inch iron skillet until hot. Add drippings to batter. Mix well. Pour into skillet. Bake at 450 degrees for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
