HAMBURGER SHEPHERD'S PIE 
1 lb. lean ground beef
2 tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 c. thinly sliced carrots
1/4 tsp. basil
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. parsley
Fluffy mashed potatoes
1 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 c. beef broth or stock
1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp. Tabasco sauce
1 c. onion rings

Parboil carrots and celery until almost done. Brown ground beef in shortening. Add flour, salt and pepper; mix well. Add beef broth or stock; cook several minutes until slightly thickened. Add carrots and celery. Place mixture in lightly greased casserole dish. Top with fluffy mashed potatoes and onion rings. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with salad and hot bread.
