ITALIAN COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
2 sticks melted butter
6 eggs, extra lg.
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. anisette or a tsp. lemon juice or 1 tsp. orange juice & the rind of 1 lemon or orange
4-4 1/2 c. flour
6 heaping tsp. baking powder

In mixing bowl, put in 1 cup sugar and melted butter which has been cooled. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat after each egg. Add flavor, 2 teaspoons vanilla and your choice of 1 of the three flavors. Add 2 cups flour and 6 heaping teaspoons of baking powder and mix. Then add 2 more cups flour and mix. Dough should be soft. Put on board, if dough is too sticky, add a little flour. Let stand for 3 minutes.

Roll out into little balls, 1 1/2 inches and place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes. When cool, frost cookies.

FROSTING:

1/2 box confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla or Anisette
1 tbsp. melted butter
Enough milk to soften, about 3 tbsp.
