SIMPLE SHEPHERD'S PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 beef-flavored bouillon cube
1 c. boiling water
1 unbaked 9 inch pastry shell
3 c. mashed potatoes
1 (10 oz.) can beef gravy

Brown beef with oil, celery, and onion; drain excess fat. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Dissolve bouillon in boiling water. Add to meat mixture and cook, stirring often, until boiling and thickened. Spread mixture in pastry shell. Spread potatoes over meat mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until pastry is browned. Serve with gravy.

Makes 4 servings.
