ACORN SQUASH WITH APPLESAUCE 
4 acorn squash
4 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. raisins
3 c. applesauce
1/2 c. brown sugar
6 tbsp. chopped walnuts
4 tbsp. butter

Scrub, halve lengthwise and remove seeds from squash. Mix remaining ingredients, except butter. Put mixture into squash halves; dot with butter.

Preheat oven to 400°F. Place in baking dish with 1/2-inch hot water in bottom. Cover and bake squash 1 hour. Remove cover after 30 minutes. Can be baked ahead and reheated.

Yield: 8 servings.
