BANANA WAFER PUDDING 
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 2/3 c. milk
3 eggs, separated
3 sliced bananas
Vanilla wafers
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 2/3 cups of milk in top of double boiler. Beat 3 egg yolks, gradually stirring in hot mixture. Return to double boiler. Cook stirring often until mixture thickens. Remove from heat, add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Line bottom of 8x8 inch pans with vanilla wafers. Top with 3 sliced bananas and half of the custard; repeat layers ending with custard on top. Beat egg whites stiff; gradually add 1/4 cup of sugar. Beat until still. Pile on custard. Bake in hot oven at 425 degrees for 5 minutes until lightly brown.
