MOM'S PIE PASTRY 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. cold water

Sift together flour and salt. Cut in butter or shortening with 2 knives or pastry blender. Add enough water to hold ingredients together, sprinkling evenly and mixing with a fork to form ball. Roll out dough in circular piece 1/2 inch thick on a lightly floured board. Fit to 8-inch or 9-inch pie pan or plate; fold under. Pinch pastry edge to make even fluted standing rim. Trim excess. Fill.
