SCALLOPED OYSTERS 
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 c. crushed soda crackers
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
1 pt. fresh shucked oysters (reserve liquid)
Salt and paprika
6 tbsp. light or heavy cream (or more as needed)
2 tbsp. butter

Combine melted butter, crushed crackers, and bread crumbs. Place half of crumb mixture into greased 8-inch square pan. Cover with oysters, being careful to remove any shells. Sprinkle lightly with salt and paprika. Top with remaining crumbs mixture.

Combine oyster liquid with cream to make 1/2 cup. Pour over crumbs. Dot with butter. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 25-30 minutes, or until top is nicely browned. Serves 4-6.
