FROSTED JAM BARS | |
1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. dark Karo 1 beaten egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 c. jam or preserve (strawberry is good) Melt butter. Stir in Karo. Mix in egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Spread half of batter in greased 11 x 7 x 1 1/2 inch pan. Spoon jam over batter. Carefully cover with remaining batter. Bake 20-25 minutes at 400 degrees. Frost while warm with powdered sugar icing. |
