GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tsp. butter flavor
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 (4 oz.) pkg. sweet cooking chocolate, melted

Cream sugar and shortening with electric mixer. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and butter flavor. Stir together flour, salt, and soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating until well blended. Stir in chocolate until blended. Pour into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours, or until cake tests done in center. Cool inverted in pan on wire rack.
