REFRIGERATOR ROLLS | |
5-6 c. flour 1 1/3 c. milk, scalded 1/2 c. sugar 6 tsp. shortening 2 tsp. salt 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/2 c. lukewarm water 2 eggs, slightly beaten Scald milk, sugar, shortening and salt in mixing bowl. Cool to lukewarm. Mix teaspoon sugar in lukewarm water and then sprinkle yeast on top and let set to foam on top, about 5 minutes. Add eggs, water, yeast and mix well. Add to milk mixture. Add about 1/2 flour, beat and add remaining flour, mix well. Place dough in greased bowl. Grease dough slightly and cover bowl with wax paper or wet towel - store in refrigerator until needed. Take amount needed and shape - cover and let rise - bake at 425 degrees. |
